Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
1. Who we are
Rodega Studios ("Rodega", "we", "us") is a software and web design studio based in South Africa, serving clients locally and internationally. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and how we handle it — in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA) and, where applicable to international visitors, the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
If you have any questions about this policy or your personal information, contact us at info@rodega.com.
2. What we collect
We collect a small amount of information, only where needed:
- Enquiry details you send us. When you use our contact form or package builder, we receive the details you choose to submit: your name, email address, company name (optional), the package options you selected, and anything you write in your message.
- Approximate region (once, for currency). On your first visit we perform a one-time lookup of your approximate country from your IP address, solely to show prices in the right currency (ZAR or USD). Your resulting preference is stored in your browser, not on our servers.
- Preferences stored in your browser.Your theme (dark/light) and currency choices are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
- Anonymous usage statistics. We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused, cookie-free analytics tool that collects aggregated statistics (such as page views and referral sources) without tracking or identifying individual visitors.
- Standard server logs. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses and request data) for security and reliability purposes.
We do not use advertising trackers, we do not set tracking cookies, and we never sell personal information.
3. Why we collect it
We process your information to:
- respond to your enquiry and correspond with you about it;
- prepare proposals, quotes, and recommendations you requested;
- provide and improve our services and this website;
- keep reasonable business records; and
- comply with legal obligations.
Under POPIA, we rely on your consent (submitting the form) and our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and running our business. Under the GDPR, the equivalent lawful bases are consent, legitimate interests, and steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make this website work, acting on our instructions:
- Resend — delivers your enquiry to our inbox by email.
- Vercel — hosts this website and processes standard server logs.
- Plausible Analytics — processes anonymous, aggregated usage statistics.
- ipapi.co — performs the one-time country lookup for currency selection.
Some of these providers process data outside South Africa. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by the provider's contractual safeguards consistent with POPIA section 72 and, where relevant, GDPR transfer mechanisms.
5. How long we keep it
We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as reasonably necessary to handle your enquiry, provide services, and maintain business records. You may ask us to delete your information at any time (see section 7); we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.
6. How we protect it
We take reasonable, appropriate technical and organisational measures to secure personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access — including encrypted connections (HTTPS), reputable infrastructure providers, and access limited to the people who need it.
7. Your rights
Under POPIA (and the GDPR where applicable), you have the right to:
- be told what personal information we hold about you;
- request access to it;
- ask us to correct or update it;
- ask us to delete it;
- object to or restrict our processing of it; and
- withdraw consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@rodega.com. If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you may lodge a complaint with the South African Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
8. Children
This website and our services are directed at businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised, and material changes will be reflected on this page.
